Missing People Info

  • If you’re looking to report your loved ones missing / unaccounted for in the North Carolina area, you can text “PERSON” to 40403 to report them. They will respond with a link to fill out with all of your loved ones’ information. (Each person needs their own report completed.) It’s a very simple and quick process to complete. I was told that I should get a response within 24 hours, or if you are outside of NC, you can call 1-888-892-1162.

  • Marion, NC Volunteer: The disaster relief team and mobile kitchen is in place at 129 Barnes rd in Marion NC and have provided more than 1000 meals per day to the community. We are calling for volunteers. We specifically need help for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. This will undoubtedly continue for the foreseeable future and the need for volunteers is great. If you plan on volunteering please form small groups and contact our representative as a group instead of individually. This will cut down on phone traffic. Buncombe County: Buncombe County Resources

  • MANNA FoodBank in Asheville The non-profit organization is seeking volunteers and donations to help provide assistance to those in need. For those who wish to make a donation to the food bank online visit their website by clicking here.
  • Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry (ABCCM): In partnership with the Red Cross, this ministry is seeking donations to provide assistance with motel and food costs for residents who have been displaced. The ministry is also looking for food, clothing, or monetary donations. To learn more on how you can help, visit their website here.
  • Homeward Bound in Asheville This organization provides help to Asheville’s homeless community, by also providing clothing and everyday essential items. They aim to prevent and end homelessness. More information can be found here.
  • Supply Pick-Up at Catawba Brewing Asheville – Water, Supplies, Grilled Hot Dogs, etc. 32 Banks Ave (they hope to be open on Friday 4th with this)

Boone NC

  • App State is feeding anyone who needs a meal at the central dining hall on campus. They have power and internet in the dining hall. You DO NOT need to be a student to come to the dining hall for help.
