7. SHOELESS JOE JACKSON MUSEUM AND BASEBALL LIBRARY

Shoeless Joe Jackson was one of the most famous baseball players of all time. The museum opened in 2008 as a non-profit to commemorate his life and his involvement in baseball. The museum uses Joe Jackon’s real home, where he lived up until his death. Visitors can find tons of baseball memorabilia, personal belongings, and over 2,000 books about baseball inside the house.

8. FLUOR FIELD

Fluor Field is a baseball field in Greenville that has been completely modeled after the Boston Red Sox’s Fenway Park. The field is home to the single A minor-league baseball team, the Greenville Drive, an affiliate of the aforementioned Red Sox.

The Peace Center Concert Hall is a beautiful amphitheater located on a six-acre campus outside downtown Greenville, adjacent to Falls Park. The center was built in 1990, right in the area where Greenville’s textile complex stood many years ago.

13. SWAMP RABBIT TRAIL

A famous railroad line nicknamed “The Swamp Rabbit” once carried cargo and guests in the Greenville area.

The old track has since been converted into a multi-use walking and biking path. The trail runs 22 miles and offers a beautiful green walkway around the city. There are rest areas, picnic spots, fitness hubs, scenic views, and grassy lawns along the path.

The trail is paved and perfect for strollers and easy walks. There are many access points, so there is no need to travel the entire 22 miles. You can even take the trail all the way to Travelers Rest, which is a cute town you should also check out!

He was also a large figure in the South Carolina legislature and United States House of Representatives, and he was also a Unionist leader in South Carolina.

In 2001, the city of Greenville appointed this statue of Joel Roberts Poinsett in downtown Greenville to commemorate and remember the man and all the great things he had accomplished.

✅ Bald Rock Heritage Preserve

Bald Rock Heritage Preserve is a 165-acre preserve that has the best panoramic mountain views of the South Carolina foothills, including Table Rock Mountain. The preserve has easy roadside access so visitors can easily stop and see the sights.

✅ Caesars Head State Park

Caesars Head State Park is just down the road from Bald Rock Heritage Preserve and is very well known for its gorgeous, though strenuous, hikes. Caesars Head State Park is also famous for having a plethora of some of the state’s finest waterfalls, with lots of waterfall access. Waterfalls you may want to visit include Raven Cliff Falls, Cliff Falls, Firewater Falls, and Drip Rock Falls.

✅ Campbell’s Covered Bridge

Check out the cutest covered bridge! Campbell’s Covered Bridge was built between 1909 and 1911 by a man named Charles Irwin Willis. The bridge is made out of pine and is about 38 feet long and 12 feet wide, and goes over Beaverdam Creek.

The bridge got its name from Alexander Lafayette Campbell. He had a grist mill, a mill for grinding grains, near the bridge.

Nowadays, the bridge and the area around it, about 18.65 acres, is a peaceful park. You can go there and have picnics, check out the old mill and home site’s foundations, dip your feet in the creek on hot days, go for a short nature hike on a trail that’s less than a mile long, and learn about the area from signs with information. It sounds like a nice place to visit and explore!
